IMDB rating: 7.70

Plot: Richard and Susan are a couple from San Diego, California who are vacationing in Morocco while their two children are at home with their Mexican housekeeper, Amelia. A rifle finds its way into the hands of a local herdsman’s young sons, who recklessly take a shot at a tour bus and hit Susan in the shoulder, causing her severe injury. The distraught Richard calls home to tell Amelia of the situation, who shortly departs for Mexico to attend her son’s wedding, with Richard and Susan’s children in tow. Disaster thus multiplies, with the situation in Morocco ascribed to terrorists in the media, while Amelia meets with trouble at the Mexican border when she attempts to return to San Diego with Richard and Susan’s children. Meanwhile, in Tokyo, a widower tied to the rifle in question, a complex shift of ownership to which the audience is privy, attempts to deal with the memories of his recently deceased wife and his strained relationship with his deaf teenage daughter.

Is it not true that China, Egypt, Sumeria all had civilizations and written history before and after…?
the supposed time of the global flood (aprrox. 2500 b.e.)? If it’s true, how’d they survive and continue on with the same language and culture? (new languages weren’t supposed to have occured until the tower of babel incident)

Maybe the story of the flood isn’t what it appears to be. Maybe … {gasp} … the Buy Bull is wrong.

Yes, that’s true. Obviously, there was no global flood.

The closest guess I could offer would be that there was a localized flood. But I personally don’t buy that there was a mass flood. Really, a lot of things in the Bible don’t match to what we’ve found historically (i.e. the Pharaoh in Exodus dieing at the end).
If you want something a bit ironic, the Egyptians have their own flood myth, as do some other cultures.

Yes it is true.It doesn’t put the flood story in a very good light, does it?

It is true that there are several cultures tat show continuous existence across the time period of the flood. It is also true that the migration of humans as well as the development of languages do not match or support the tower of babel story.
